This was for a little girl's 2nd birthday. Done in buttercream with royal icing decorations.
Three separate cakes, stacked, and wrapped with a fondant label to hide the layers. Had to finish assembling the cake at the restaurant, which was at least 80 degrees, so label practically melted as I lifted it to put it on. Also, marker smeared a bit on lable from the heat. Not my best work, but it was a fun cake.
This was a combination Easter/90th birthday cake. Lemon cake with blueberry filling., real buttercream, royal icing flowers.
Cheesecake wrapped in candy clay ribbons. Would definitely dip edges of all pieces if doing it again.

Pink rolled buttercream with green buttercream scrollwork. This was my first time trying the rolled buttercream and I love the look as well as the taste!
I needed to do a quick last-minute cake, so it was the dreaded star-tip. The football is actually a brownie, which cooks unevenly, so it was mostly for show. Overall, a simple cake for a day when no one looks at the food, anyway.

I took inspiration from another cake on this site. Three oval layers - 2 spice and 1 apple-oat, with cream cheese icing. It was perfect for a fall baby shower, although the cream cheese icing was a bit tricky to do a basketweave pattern with.
Simple cake covered in fondant. Flowers are fondant and gumpaste.
Cake split a bit on the drive over and was difficult to repair. Also sank a bit overnight, revealing the supports. Will do better next time! People were impressed, anyway.
