3D Jayhawk
Being a K- state fan, this was a challenge... He has a wood frame, covered with rice krispies on the bottom half and cake, obviously, on the top. It made for an easy split on flavors, his head was one and the body was the other. Then good old fondant. all the feathers were a lot of fun to cut out and attach individually with a leaf cutter, but it looks a lot better, i think.

Elmo Serves Up Cake
He stands about thirty inches tall and his hands were about four feet apart at the cakes. his head was made with a ten inch, three layer cake. the cakes in his hands are six inches. His arms curve forward as well as out... you cant tell in this picture. ridiculous amount of starring but he turned out pretty well. He has a wood frame that is attached to the base and covered in rice krispies. His arms are made of steel wrapped with rice krispies and gum paste, his hands and fingers are of wood as well.

Big Wall-E
He turned out way bigger than i anticipated... but you only turn two once, right? His arms, head, and tracks are made of paperstone, which is a recycled paper product used for making countertops. The rest of him is mainly foam build up, with two big squares of cake at the top. then mmf and i got a little carried away with the air brush, i was hoping to get a chance to make it again in order to get a little better at it, but i really couldnt wait to show it off... oh and he holds my heavyweight title, coming in at 76 pounds.

Blackhawk
this is just another version of a cake i did awhile back. this time i used mmf this time instead of frosting. it certainly makes it easier to make the details. the colors did turn out very well in the pictures but it looked good in person... it is a three layer cake on a corian base. the rotor blades are also made of corian. the rotors turn and it will roll around on its wheels.

Blackhawk1
The base for the cake is made from Corian Solid Surface, it sits on model airplane wheels. the rotor blades and tail fin are also made from corian. The rotors spin and the cake will roll on its wheels. The cake itself is three layers of chocolate cake, carved and then iced with buttercream icing. Cake was made for a homecoming party for soldiers returning from Iraq. They use Blackhawk helicopters for rescue work.
