I made these for my Uncle who just became a grandpa - I was so excited for him!! I wanted a flat surface for the fondant so I used the backs of sugar cookies - looks a bit weird. Sugar cookies w fondant and stiff buttercream.
My 5th cake. Not perfect, but I was very proud to carry it into the party. I had hubby estimate the weight, about 14 pounds. Even the employee party host told me "I see ALOT of cakes and THAT is a work of ART!!" He came back later and said "I eat ALOT of cakes and THAT tated GREAT!!" When both my kids are in school next year, I think I'd like to intern at a bakery!!
