Pineapple-Cherry Pound Cake iced with buttercream with MMF decorations. There was supposed to be a fondant butterfly in the "void" but I dropped the poor butterfly on the floor just before the cake was to "fly" out the door - boo hoo!
I made this cake for a friend's birthday. He just turned 27 and is a fan of horror-type films. My husband is the creator of the design, while I baked the cake - 9x13 double layer (one white, one chocolate with bumbleberry jam filling) & almond buttercream icing. I "eye-balled" his design onto the cake and then decorated it (in less than two days, I might add- and that includes the baking!).
I made this cake at work (I'm the Baker at a local Farm Market). It was sliced and handed out to the customers on July 1st, which is our Canada Day. It is two 9x13 citrus pound cakes, glued together with buttercream icing.
