Texas Holdem Poker
This is 1 of 2 cakes I did for my dad's 60th birthday. I did this cake 1st. This was a chocolate cake with buttercream icing. The texas and chips are made of marshmellow fondant. This was my first time working with mmf. It went ok I guess. I redid the chips a hundred times, but still they turned out pretty well I think.

Poker Cards
This was 1 of 2 cakes I did for my dad's 60th birthday. Chocolate cake with buttercream icing. This was my first attempt at working with marshmellow fondant. The cards and chips are made of mmf. I actually did this cake last and was getting low on buttercream so had to really go thin on it on top. Wished I would have just made another batch.

Golf Course Cake
I made this cake for my kids birthday. They are only 5 days apart and we were having a putt putt party. My 10 yr. old daughter actually helped me on this one. I thought it turned out cute. Most done in buttercream, except for the sand I used brown sugar. The ball was a marshmellow I just pinched off, rolled into a ball and froze. The flag was a piece of fruit roll up wrapped around a lollipop stick.

Ladybug Cake
This is the best cake I have yet. It all went so smoothly. This was for my mom's birthday. I couldn't believe how much fun I had doing this cake. I made a white cake in a pyrex bowl, for the body, and used a cake made in a custard cup for the head. Buttercream frosting, and a few jr. mints and some twizzlers for the antennas. This was so much fun, and mom loved it!

Yogi Bear
This is my attempt at Yogi bear. Its a chocolate cake with buttercream icing. I haven't had any cake classes, so still trying to learn. I free handed Yogi on top and then just filled him in with buttercream. I still am really bad at getting the icing smooth and my borders are terrible. I only do cakes for family and friends, so no one can complain about a free cake. LOL!

Cat In The Hat
I did this cake for my nephew's first birthday. He orginally wanted a space ship, then after I had baked the cake he decided he wanted cat in the hat. So had to compromise and make do with what I had. I free handed the picture on the cake from an invitation. Thought I didn't do to bad of a job for never having any cake classes. Still working on trying to learn how to smooth out the icing.
