I saw this cake on a Wilton book. My brother's girlfriend is having her 18th party on Saturday and I just finished making this for her.
I had a go at this cake from the Wilton decorating magazine of this year. I think it turned out ok - just that my writing needs improvement. It's his Christening tomorrow.
I've just finished my husband's birthday cake. He's a big transformers fan, so I went with Optimus Prime. I think his head is quite bad really, but the best I could do.

I made my first buttercream roses today. I've never seen meringue powder here in Australia, so I couldn't make the snow white buttercream in hopes that they would set to apply later. I used regular buttercream and just froze the roses and put them on when I was ready. I piped the buds directly onto the cake. They're not perfect, but not bad for a first try! I copied the design from the picture on the Wilton 3 in 1 caddy.

A lady was getting married and asked for a small wedding cake for 10 people. I came up with this and only charged her $20 or so. She was so rude when she picked the cake up, saying that she hated the flowers! She said that she was going to remove them and put fresh flowers on it! I've never felt so insulted. I still think it's pretty.
I made this cake for a friend's 21st. It was hexagonal with caramel mud cake inside. Covered with pink marbled fondant. I made the rose boquet also.
