Friend's step-dad's bday and she asked me to make something that related to his work. He deals with safey & fire extinguisher sales so this was my take on it. Deep rich choc cake, raspberry mousse filling & smother in choc ganache.
Friend asked me to make a star cake for her daughter's 9th birthday... this was my take on the cake that she sent me as an example... deep choc cake with raspberry cream filling, white choc ganache, white choc fondant stripes, fondant stars.
After a friend saw my first attempt of R2D2, she asked if I could make it for her son... it's a little better than my first attempt... but still not perfect :(
Friend asked to have a batch (40) cupcakes to take to her son's school party... strawberry swirl cake with meringue frosting.
First attempt at anything "Cars" related -- not clever enough to actually make a car cake, so this was the best I could do... vanilla cake with buttercream icing - made for my friends little boys' 2nd birthday.
Oh man.. this cake was a disaster from the start... but here it is anyways... anyone that can do those fantastic FBCT my hat goes off to you... I don't know why I even bother trying with them anymore!!

My take on the various 3D dinosaurs on CC (thanks to all previous makers for inspiration). It was a last minute order so it's not the best... but he looks kinda cute. My kids even knew what he was before I covered him in the fondant - my toughest critics! hehe
A friend asked me to make a cake for her daughter - i got to have creativity freedom - so I tried to do the whole tiara on pillow thing... it kinda worked, the tiara gave me a nightmare, but learnt alot so that's always a bonus.

This is for an order for tomorrow (friend of a friend of a friend's daughters bday)... she liked the present cake that I had previously made, so this is a re-creation of that. This time I made the bow & ribbon out of fondant... a little more difficult when it came to sticking in the decorations so willhave to re-think that for next time! All fondant & buttercream
For my cousin's 30th birthday... it's supposed to be a cricket bat, cricket ball, wicket, bales and a "baggy green" hat that the Australian cricket team wear -- not a common sight in the US, so you'll just have to take my word for it!
Here's my sad attempt at R2D2... it was only for my nephew and it was a very small party so we didnt want a big cake -- hence the appearance of R2D2 "squatting"!! if there is ever a next time I'll know what to do better... the birthday boy loved it, and that's the most important bit.
Made for a friends' daughters 8th birthday who wanted a beach theme... First time tackling RK treats - what messy stuff that is! - but made a pretty cool wave out of it. Swiss white chocolate cake with BC icing & "granita" sand (cuz we don't have graham crackers over here!)
I was asked by a friend to make an "elegant" mexican themed 21st bday cake... this was the best i could come up with! It's a red velvet cake so it'll look pretty cool when they cut it open.
My version of the cookie monster cake - didn't have a tin so I had to "wing" it... didnt quite work out how I'd like - but then they never do!
A Farm themed birthday cake for my son's 2nd birthday (having a mobile farm visiting us as a party theme). Had to give it an Aussie twist as most of the farm/barnyard cakes I found had red barns on them which we don't have - so we have a corrugated iron roof shed. Everything is out of proportion, something I need to work on I think! Thanks for looking. -- Fi
This didn't quite turn out how I planned... first attempt at pretty much everything from the recipe (carrot of course - what else would rabbits eat??) to the spray colour... guess that's what experimenting is all about!

First attempt at flowers other than roses!... I broke so many petals and have definitely learnt what NOT to do next time. Small flowers are violets, fantasy filler flowers and lily of the valley.
For a neighbours' little girls 7th birthday - she chose the colours and wanted the style to look like the dress the doll usually wears - not an easy task! Anyways... the "dress" is rich chocolate cake and the base is Swiss white chocolate - my fave! all covered in buttercream & topped with fondant for the dress. (PS sorry the pic is a bit blurry - my camera broke last night and had to take it with a phone camera!)
A creation from a disaster... simple traditional fruitcake mixed with Baileys Irish Cream and topped with melted chocolate.
This cake was inspired from a similar one made by Emmascakes - so all the creative credit goes to her... thought it was so cute and have made this for a friend that ordered 2 cakes from me this year -- I must be getting better! hehehe
