Someone asked me to make this cake for their divorce party.
I used the original Boba Fett cake pan and changed the color's to make it into Jango Fett, which is my son's favorite Star Wars Character
My daughter wanted a cake that was a 3D version of her first webkinz.
My son is crazy about cars, so here is yet another cars cake. This is the scene in the movie where Lightening takes a dive into the cactus. I made the cactus out of fondant and slivered almonds. The only things on this cake you can't eat are the toys.
I love doing these kinds of cakes for my kids because they get extra toys. I made the furniture out of chocolate so that the table and chairs was edible. Plus my daughter was so excited to get another toy on her birthday!
The cake is made half of chocolate and yellow cake. The baby blocks are strawberry cake covered in Fondant and stacked on top. It was lots of fun to make and everyone loved it at my husbands work. (It was for a co worker)
The top is a cake that I made with a bread pan, carved and assembled into the shape of Mac. I used mini oreo cookies for the wheels. The Fondant is Marshmellow fondant that I made and colored. I wish I had more time to do more detail. (side view)
The grass was made with Wilton tip 233. I used a flat tip for the water and just swirled it to look wavy. Instead of a top border, I made sure the water and grass came to the edge.
My nephew drew the picture, which I transposed on to the cake. When I was done I put edible glitter on it to make it stand out more.
I made my own birthday cake last year because I so badly wanted a coffin cake for my 30th. I used 2 1/4 sheet cakes and cut the one into the design.
I wasn't able to take course 3, so I bought the book and did this myself. I thought it came out ok, considering I had to figure it out myself!
I made this for my husbands work. It was my first attempt at a fondant overlay for the bassinet portion, so it didn't hold very well.
I used regular Cars diecasts for the top of the cake. Kids loved it!
