Grilled Cheese Cake
I made this cake for my grandmother who ALWAYS orders a grilled cheese sandwich no matter where she is-even if it isn't on the menu. It started out as a joke but once I started thinking about it, I had to see if I could do it. Thanks so much for the advice! It's a white cake with buttercream "cheese." French fries are fondant and gel "ketchup." I "grilled" it by buttering the top, sprinkling it with sugar, and setting it under the broiler on low and watching it like a hawk. I'm happy with the result.

Second Retirement Cake
This is the second one I did. (Actually I did three, but the last one was not decorated and held in reserve. She is a special lady and lot of people were expected.) Anyway, I realized that I had lost some letters (to keep my handwriting nice) and couldn't do the standard Congratulations for the cake so my daughter and I brainstormed and this is what we came up with. This cake is chocolate and buttercream.

Patriotic Birthday Cake
This project took on a life of its own once I found the recipe for MMF. It was originally to be a simple 11x15 cake (I double it and torte it and it ends up huge) with patriotic colors since the birthday "girl's" birthday is only a few days away from the 4th. Once I found the MMF, I went a bit nuts and didn't make a penny on the project, but it was SO worth it. I had a lot of fun. The cake is yellow butter with a buttercream filling (and a dash of butter rum flavor).
