Garden Snake
This cake was completely inspred by one I saw on CC. I used a bundt pan with additional cake pieces and a ho-ho for his tail. Coloring was important since the birthday boy had a reptile guy come in for his party. Red on black, friend of Jack, Red on yellow, kill a fellow! All the kids loved him, especially the gummy lizard in his mouth!

Canon's Cowboy Hat
Thank goodness for the tutorial I found here! This is my attempt at a red cowboy hat. Party-goers were doing double takes, not believing it was really a cake. The plastic wrap I used to protect the real hat while the mmf brim set really helped give it a real leather-like look. I used 2 9"ovals instead of three.

Angela's Castle
To celebrate her birthday, this little 5yo wanted a Cinderella castle. Two 9" rounds and two 6" rounds. Turrets are cake ice cream cones stuck together at the bottoms with sugar cones on top, sprayed with edilbe food color. Icing is buttercream with mmf accents and a PollyPocket doll.

Rosemary's 60Th Red Hat
I had to come up with an idea that would serve 75 guests. The hat box is 2 12" rounds stacked, the hat brim is 10" with half sports ball crown. Covered in buttercream icing with mm fondant accents and silk flowers. I am disappointed my camera turned all the purple blue ~ it just doesn't look as good.

Square Wedding Cake
6", 10" and 14" square cake, stacked offset. Bottom is chocolate, two top layers yellow. All covered in ivory bc. Brown ribbon around the base of each layer. Red, ivory and burnt orange bc roses and a molded milk chocolate C on top. My second wedding cake ~ the eight mile delivery was nerve-wrecking but we made it with little to no damage. (The roads were HORRENDOUS!) I can see ALL the flaws and what I'd do differently if I had to do it again.

Les's 80Th Birthday
To celebrate the eightieth birthday of a guy who was very active in his life. He suffered a stroke some 4 years ago and has had to learn to walk/talk all over again. His wife wanted "just a sheet cake" but I thought this design would be a little more fun without reminding him of all his hobbies he cannot do now. I used the enhanced cake recipe from cc, which turned out DELICIOUS! Two 8" rounds for the 8, one 8" round and part of a 6" square for the 0. Some tight spaces to decorate, but relatively easy.

Thomas The Tank Engine
Not some of my best work. I had ordered the Thomas Kit, but it still hadn't arrived by the day before the party. I used the instructions from the kit and improvised with fondant and candy...of course the kit arrived a half hour before the party started. I wasn't going to mess with it then! The kids seemed to like him...I think he's hideous...

I Once Caught A Fish This Big...
Made for a guy who likes to fish salmon. I was inspired by a few photos in this gallery. (Thank you all for being soo talented). Carved from an 11x15 cut and stacked. My carving needs some practice. Lemon cake with lemon bc icing, mmf fins, eye & lettering. You can't see it, but there's a big hook in his mouth. I found the platter at a thrift shop for .50, covered it with foil for effect.

Tara's Tinkerbell Cake
My 4yo wanted Tinkerbell, Butterflies and Flowers on her cake this year. She was oh so happy to see this tower of cake, cookies and icing. We had a Tinkerbell Garden Party and all her guests had seconds on cake! I made extra butterfly cookies to send home as goodies. The Tinkerbell topper played fairy music and spun around. It was "the best cake ever!"
