Made this Philadelphia Eagles Donovan McNabb cake for my son's 6th birthday. This was my first stacked/tiered cake! second time working with fondant. All buttercream frosting with all fondant accents/decorations; grass borders; cake topper is a 9" vinyl football action figure (mcnabb) I got from toys-r-us. each layer is two 3" high cakes... 12" bottom (french vanilla cake); 10" middle tier (red velvet cake); 8" top tier (milk chocolate cake)
Made this last year for my husband's birthday. He's a baseball guy and I really wanted to try a cupcake bouquet a different want than i did with the flower pot.
This was a request for a friend. The hot dog roll is carved out of angel food cake and the "hot dog" is two Little Debbie "swiss rolls" covered in buttercream frosting. The "fries" are the leftover angel food cake and the ketchup/mustard is buttercream.
I made this for one of the wilton classes (fondant and tiered cakes) and was my first tiered cake. Both cakes are covered in fondant and the cornelli lace, vines and bead borders are buttercream. All flowers are fondant. Thanks for looking!
The flowers are made out of regular size cupcakes and the stems are mini cupcakes! Fun to do :-)
Made this for a cousin's 16th birthday party.... she's a big penn state fan and wanted green and pink , so this is what I came up with. The cake is a red velvet sheet cake with bc frosting and reverse shell borders. I made matching mini cupcakes with paw prints on them (they are the nitnay lions) to go around the cake.
Made this for a baby boy's baptism. Used the Wilton cross shaped pan. All BC. Did Cornelli Lace design and bead borders.
Used the shamrock shaped cake pan to make this Notre Dame University Fighting Irish cake for my father in law's birthday. I hand drew the interlocked ND in the center of the cake. Red velvet cake w/ buttercream frosting.
These are ice cream cone cupcakes. The "swirl" is buttercream frosting using a tip 1M swirl.... i dried the cherries w/ a paper towel and then applied them and added sprinkles. My husband and I hand made the custom carrier for them! They were a huge hit!!!

This Disney Princess cake is a cupcake cake cake (24 cupcakes) covered in all buttercream frosting on red velvet cupcakes with a reverse shell border. I tried to shape the cupcakes into a crown.
Made this for a birthday gift. The flowers are all buttercream frosting on mini cupcakes. The flowerpot is real. This was also my first time doing a cupcake bouquet :-) Fun to do, scary to transport!
Made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday party! She wanted both dora princess and disney princesses! The turrets are both sugar cones and regular cones covered in icing. It's all buttercream frosting.

He wanted an army/camo bday party (my dad/brother are both army and my bro is being deployed next week) This was a red velvet cake w/ vanilla bc icing... the "river" is piping gel--the stones are milk duds--the grass is icing--the "dirt" is crushed oreos--i wrote happy birthday on the flags b/c i had no where else to put it! i love the army guy crawling up the side of the cake--all the army guys/tank are plastic--got some great ideas from many photos off this site
I made this for my hubby's huge family thanksgiving feast.... It's just the two bundt cakes... spice cake w/ homemade crusting creamcheese icing (from this site!! thanks YUM!) ... the stem is an ice cream cone painted w/ icing.... the leaves I made from wilton's make & molds... This was my first time using anything beside the class bc icing! i was afraid but it turned out great! thanks to CC photos for the ideas :-)
Did this one for my hubby's company picnic. That is their logo and colors. Did basketweave on the sides with leftover icing. It was a huge hit! Everything is done in vanilla bc icing.... i traced the logo with piping gel and then transferred to the cake and decorated.
wilton pan i picked up at an antique store. did for a 90th bday party the guy is a huge orioles fan. all black icing is chocolate and the rest is vanilla. this one was fun!
1/2 sheet red velvet cake w/ all vanilla icing except for the black which is chocolate -- i love the basketweave i did on the side that is supposed to represent the checkered flag :-)
Did this for my hubby's grandma's 80th birthday surprise party! she LOVED it & it was a huge hit! the bottom is a double layer 9x13 french vanilla filled with "dirt" (choco pudding, crushed oreos, cool whip) the two number 80 cakes on top are double layers from the course 2 small oval pans.... these were both triple chocolate fudge cakes with the "dirt" filling . there were for layers that were supposed to represent 4 generations in her family (the two bottom layers and the two numbers)
this was actually my first paid cake. the client requested the colors so this is what i came up with. .... all the tan color you see is peanut butter icing i made (what a pain!!) the other decs are buttercream... the cake was chocolate
Did this multi-colored basketweave (first attempt besides in class) for my mother-in-law's birthday.... she loves bears so that's why that little bear is on top. Red Velvet oval shaped cake w/ vanilla filling and vanilla bc icing... the bear is cut out of cake scraps w/ cookie cutter.
I made this for my hubby's birthday. The base is a giant chocolate chip cookie cake and is covered in vanilla flavored grass icing. The ball is a french vanilla cake filled with vanilla icing and crushed animal crackers and vanilla icing on the ball. Home Plate is same as the ball. The bats are wooden and the atlanta braves hat is plastic (happen to find it by luck in our attic while looking for something else!) My first time working with the ball pan and grass tip. and cookie cake.
Did this cross cake for Easter 2007! My first time working with the cross cake. It's strawberry cake w/ vanilla icing. Cornelli Lace, dot and rope borders, rose, vines, leaves, and rosebuds. Used wilton's cross pan.
This was the first cake i ever did. I made it for my son's 3rd birthday (oct 2006). It was a funfetti cake filled w/ buttercream and the icing is buttercream/vanilla.... all tip 18 stars.... the football stadium tray my mom got for me years ago... it worked perfect for the football!!!
