Maple Bacon Cupcakes
Italian Maple Buttercream & yellow cake & candied maple bacon. Best. Cupcakes. Ever. I used this recipe: https://www.willcookforsmiles.com/maple-bacon-cupcakes/ My tweaks to recipe: *added brown sugar sprinkled on bacon before cooking and added some to frosting. *used butter instead of oil (as I do in almost every cake/cupcake recipe I use!). *I did NOT use bacon grease in the cupcakes because ewwww.. I used a little butter crisco instead. *omitted the maple extract bc I didn’t have any and added butter flavoring and vanilla extract instead. *made an Italian buttercream instead of using the frosting in this recipe.

Once Upon A Time Cake
My 10 year old is obsessed with Once Upon a Time and wanted a cake with this theme. I had never done the drip technique before (I wasn’t very happy with how this came out & red wasn’t dark enough). I used a real apple and poked Rumplestiltkin’s dagger through the apple and into cake to keep it from falling over.. it worked great! The dagger was plastic I found on amazon. She loved it!

Vw Bus Cake
Yellow “cake hack” box cake with American Buttercream and mmf decoration. My brother loves Volkswagen buses and once owned an orange bus back when he was a teen. The ignition was broken and he used a fork as the key.. so of course I made a fondant keychain with a fork dangling from it LOL. It’s the little things

Skylander Lego Cake
My 5 year old couldn’t decide which theme he wanted for his birthday so we did both! Skylander Imaginators + LEGO = happy birthday boy! The top is a Skylander portal and bottom is ripped open to show LEGO construction underneath. Cupcakes are mini Skylander portals with American buttercream. Cake is American buttercream and mmf. Cake & cupcakes are yellow “cake hack” box mix.

Circus Cake & Crackerjacks Cupcakes
Pinterest gave me the idea and I made the “cake hack” box cake (I always add an extra 3 oz of cake mix to each recipe) in yellow for bottom and chocolate for top. I made Italian buttercream for cupcakes and drizzled with caramel and sprinkled crackerjacks on top. American buttercream & Wilton fondant for cake. The birthday girl was happy!
