OMG just had a small heart attack, thought I'd majorly mucked up on a stock order! Delivery just arrived of some bits I'd ordered, but it was 3 HUGE boxes!!

I thought 'Oh no, I've gone and ordered retail packs of stuff by mistake'

Nope - it was my order as I was expecting, just in the worlds most oversized packing boxes! Seriously, this is what I'd ordered:

How wasteful is that?! Really bugs me, because the boxes are all bashed up because they aren't full enough to support their shape. Luckily nothing was damaged, or fallen out of the holes, but can you imagine if you've ordered anything fragile?! Yeeshk!

I hate it when they do this.

Evening all.

Sugarluva, huge congratulations on your engagement! Yay I see engagement cake and wedding cake in the horizon!!

Mel, I know what you mean about ridiculous box sizes. Seems to be a common thing now. I ordered a set of Kroma colours which were in their own box, but it was placed in a box that was 5x bigger. Beggars belief!

All the make up talk! I haven't a clue really. I've very little interest in it as long as I've the right stuff on lol

I managed to take some decent photos of my cakes so here they are

I had a terrific time finishing the handbag cake- because it finally started looking like a bag!

AJean love them cakes. I really love the number 1, the colour scheme, the turtles everything. I take it you free handed it seeing how it started life as a square. It's fab.

Tiddy hope Mr tiddy is ok and I can't wait to see your Santa's grotto. Sounds like your son has had a lovely day, how sweet he just wanted lunch with his Mum, good choice with the American diner too, I've always wanted to go to an American diner.

Congrats Chezza, apologies, I've been calling you Nic for a while. I do get confused sometimes haha! Sorry :)

Just spent 58 quid on foundation and loose powder...

All the make up talk last night urged me on and I couldn't get enough of the 10% off! Hahah!

Touche Éclat Foundation in Beige B40 - £26
Souffle D'Eclat Radiant and Natural Face Powder - £32

Loubee and Kuushi, thanks! Suzanne showed a picture here on how to cut a number one cake using a square cake- so so useful.

Kuushi, I once spent £90 on bobbi brown- and all I got was face powder, concealer and I think something else. I was appalled. I didn't really know they cost that much, and was too embarassed to back out of the sale! The concealer was a disappointment too.

My gosh Jean! I don't rate Bobbi Brown much to be honest...

I spent big on a set of his brushes, I'm talking over £100 for about 4 brushes, because I apply makeup with brushes not sponges or fingers and thought they would last for ages.

Well long story short, the bristles were hard and falling out all over my face when I used them to apply foundation and when I washed them they lost their shape and went even coarser! Awful!

Hubby then bought me the real techniques limited edition set for Christmas last year and it was about £50 for about 7 brushes and they are SO SOFT! Don't moult at all and clean perfectly.

I saw Bobbi Brown on QVC the other day, he was charging £30 for 3 eyeshadows and one of those cheapo sponge eye applicators. Complete rip off!!

Oh for Pete's sake! I'm trying to shop online and tesco clothing is giving me some sort of error message after clicking checkout, and Disney online has run out of Elsa Dolls- that's Mia's main present!!! Argh going crazy.

Amazon and ebay have the dolls, but the reviews are that they are pants. For slightly cheaper, the Disney store actually has a better doll.

Hi All!

Aaw yay congrats Sugar!! Pic of the ring please! :) So glad you had a fab time, I love NY and would go back in a heartbeat! I bet Iceland was so scenic too!

All this makeup talk, I really think I need to update mine, I just get whatever's on offer in the supermarket! I'm off crimbo shopping on Thursday though, so might pop to Debenhams to see all the things you've mentioned!

Ooh Nanny they sound lovely! I love a good mince pie!

X

We had a lovely little 'photo shoot' in central park the day after we got engaged. We met my boyfriend (or should I say fiance's!) sister in new York and her boyfriend is a very good photographer so he asked to take some lovely pics of the ring for us for an engagement gift. I'll dig them out amongst the millions of New York pics I have stored on my phone and post a few for you.

Love the number one cake, those turtles are so cute.

All this make up chatter, have to say I don't like bare minerals. I don't know why it just doesn't sit right ok my face. I know that sounds crazy because everyone seems to love it but on me it just looked messy. Even when I got someone at one of those counters to do it for me. I like to mix some of my make up brands as sometimes I don't think the most expensive ones are always the best. I have tried so so many powders and just keep coming back to no 7 translucent. I don't know why but it sets my make up really well and takes away my horrible shiny face for ages. It's cheap as chips too so can't complain. I do like urban decay de-slick mattifying powder too though, but I find if I use too much I look whiter than I do already, which is pretty white. Can't beat a bit of touche eclat though, have yet to find a concealer that matches that!

Chezza, I don't think Mia knows what dolls they actually have available! So I'm just getting her the Elsa doll for £15- that's if disney restocks it.

Thanks Lelly!

Sugarluva, that's fantastic! It's made your holiday all the more memorable. I can't wait to see your ring :)

I want some of your mince pies too Nanny!

APs. I'm putting my Christmas tree up tomorrow and cannot wait! I usually do it on 29th November which was my grandma's birthday. My grandad always put their tree up on that day. But because I only arrived home today I'm 3 days late for the first time ever and I can't wait to get it up! Lol

My Mia wants the snow glow elsa that sings and lights up was gonna say my tesco had loads in the other day so maybe it was worth checking online if it was that doll, my son keeps changing his mind as to what he wants from Santa which is quite annoying
