Can you please take a look at my cars cake, its the rectangle one, I've not quite finished it but can you one give me your honest opinion on it and two give me any recommendations of what else I can do to make it not look so bare. I've piped stars round the car and flame thing (flame was meant to go on the side but couldn't get them to stick), but not sure weather to pipe white or blue starts round the writing bits, any help would really be appreciated as I really want to get this finished tonight.

Thanks,

If it were me, I'd pipe a border around the top of the cake and be done with it. Other than that, it looks good to me!

I am with aprilmanning. A border on the top will make it look more finished. Great job!

I think just piping a border around the top edge of the cake would take away the "bare" look.

My only suggestion is to put a border of either yellow or red (same shade as the car) around the lettering. The lettering looks to be FBCT. You could also put yellow and red in the piping bag and would get a cool effect when piping a border.

Sorry that's all I can think of.

I don't think the cake looks bare though - I think it looks good the way it is.

Yeah I would.... I think its better to keep a cake a little more on the simple side rather than cluttery.

If you think you need a border - I don't JMHO. Use white icing for the top border.

Maybe pipe a border and add 4 candles. Nice cake!

Your cake looks beautiful. You could put a border on it and leave it at that.

I think a white border around it will give it the finished look
without taking away from the car
a colored border may be too much
