Hello friends!
Okay - I need a little quick advice. I have an order for a cake on Saturday - it is a man's 40th Bday. The woman that ordered the cake from me was very specific in what she wants.
She would like a full sheet cake for the bottom layer, festively decorated. On the top, she wants a 4 and a 0 carved out of cake, decorated, and set on top of the sheet cake.
Now for my question ~ do you think I need to set my 4 and 0 on cardboard supports with internal structure (straws, rods, etc.) or do you think it is light enough just to sit on top of the cake? I am torn between cutting a 4 and 0 out of cardboard, like a traditional stacked cake, but that may not be necessary.
What do you think? Thanks for any advice!

When in doubt, do what your instincts tell you... depending on exactly how large the 4 0 is, to be on the safe side, I'd put boards under it and dowel under it .. I'm with CIndymm4, I'd just use wooden dowels under them .. good luck and post pics for us to see!! ![]()
