Can you explain a little more please. Do you mean a victoria sponge cake or a cake decorated in victorian style?
Ok, I am needing a Victorian theme cake. For me, Victorian time was a time of embelished items. Everything had flowers and lace and big hats! I googled victorian items and that is basically what I found and I do not know how to put that to a cake without it looking like a cake with roses. Is that better?
How about a heart shape with roses and cornelli lace? I have the Sylvia Weinstock book and this cake came to mind......http://archives.cnn.com/2000/FOOD/news/02/09/sylvia.weinstock/
I did a cake that I thought was pretty victorian. I used Ivory buttercream to frost with and also to decorate with. I had a rose stencil that I marked on the sides and then piped in the outline. I then put on some peach roses and pale green leaves in groups around the border. Stuck a big fondant bow on top since the customer was wanting a package cake. It was so easy yet looked so elegant. I will post the picture if I can find it.
Thank you everyone.
Kitagirl- I actually have your cake saved in my photos, I'm just not sure if my talent is there yet with fondant. I haven't had any luck and the instructor in our area is not too efficient with it either!
yh9080- I love the cake! I think I can do that.
