A lot of people are making shoes now that boonenati has so kindly posted a tutorial. I thought it would be fun for all of us to show off our shoes. I just made one last night but I'm not sure I really love it so I may make another one tonight. I thought we could put tips & tricks in here for successful shoe making too. I'll add my picture later but I wanted to start the post now. - Plus, I have some questions.....
1) Does anyone have trouble w/ the template for the "support"? I can't seem to get it to look like the picture in the tutorial
2) Is everyone using straight gumpaste or a fondant/gumpaste mixture? Has anyone made a shoe out of anything else? and is Wilton gumpaste just crappy or is it just me? I keep getting cracks all over the place and cannot get a smooth looking heel.
3) Anyone have tips on making bows for shoes too? My bows never seem to turn out right. I have a lot of trouble w/ the part where you attach the "knot" to the two bow loops. I even have a mold for bow making and I can't seem to get it right. Some people's bows are so nice and elegant and I always feel mine look crappy..... any tips?
I think it'll be fun to see everyone's shoes! Thanks again boonenati
for the tutorial!!!!
Maybe people could provide a link to their photo instead? Make sure to use the URL listed under the picture- not the one in the address bar!
I will be watching this thread for tips because I really want to try a shoe but haven't done it yet!
I had posted my shoes in one of the forums last week I think it was. I didn't like how my first one turned out so I did a second one with Couritiure's (spelling) help. It's in my photos.
I find Wilton's gumpaste bad, so I ended up doing a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste and it worked a lot better!
shoes are so much fun aren't they! I can't wait until I have to do another one!

Oh I certainly don't want to take up a lot of space on the server. I just thought it would be fun to see the high heel shoes in one place. Yes, you can find them in the galleries - but you also get a lot of other pictures too. Maybe we can all just do links.
If no one wants to do pictures, I'd still appreciate if anyone can answer any of the questions I had. Thanks!
