I'm making a cake that isn't going to be eaten until Saturday. It has to be delivered on Thursday though. It's box mix spice cake, with 1/2 crisco 1/2 butter, butter cream frosting, covered with MMF. I was going to make the cake tonight, decorate tomorrow, deliver Thursday, will the cake be okay until Saturday?

I'd say it would be okay, but I wouldnt really want to push it anymore than that, especially if it is a paying customer. I usually dont like to decorate more than about 2 days in advance.

Yeah, I don't really want to wait that long either, but I work from 8-5 every day....so I was thinking at the latest, I could make it tomorrow and decorate the same day, since it'll be covered with MMF.

Yeah, that is a lot though to decorate and bake in the same day if you are working too....

I know it, but I don't want the cake to go bad or be stale...I figure I can make the buttercream and fondant decorations tonight (the decoration is just a bow)...so they'll be ready for tomorrow....and bake, ice and cover with MMF. I have another cake due Friday, and I think I'll bake her's tomorrow and do all the fondant stuff for her cake today. It'll be a lot, but I really want the cake to be good when they go to eat it. Hrm...
