I can't believe I'm actually going!!! I'm taking the cake decorating 1, 2, and 3 classes that are held in June. I'm so excited. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif My husband has 6 weeks of vacation time and we plan on staying a month. I just have to find a place to stay now. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. We want maybe a 1 bedroom, furnished place probably on the UES or UWS. It will be me and my husband and our 2 kids who are 4 and 3.

Has anyone ever taken her cake classes?

Does anyone live in the city that might be able to recommend someone to contact about a place to stay?

I would look into staying in maybe NJ it might be cheaper than the city it self. You could always take public transportation to and from! Have a great time and oh make sure you take the kids to the central park zoo! You also might want to look into the bronx zoo, but that might a travel. Not to good around the city myself! But the central park zoo is great!

check vacationrentals.com they have monthly rentals all over the place, and they have pictures of most of them so that you can see what it looks like before you rent.

Thanks everyone, I'm really excited. I checked vacation rentals and they have some possibilities but I would like to try to find something that doesn't have a fee.

From what I understand people "go away" for the summer and some sublet their homes. Does this make sense, anyone out ther live in NYC and have any contacts?

Are you military by any chance? If so, you can stay in transient housing at the fort.

I recommend you really focus on this - getting a place to stay in the summer isn't easy - and it can be very expensive.

Ok, to everyone in NYC....

How is the area of W105th and CPW? Is that really UWS. I want to know if you think it's a nice area and safe?

Thanks again for everyone's help

I asked my hubby about staying in the city and he said to stay under 125th don't go above that. He said in the 105th is very safe. I have know idea about finding sublets in the city or any place else. Have you searched it out on the web? Good Luck & don't forget to go to Central Park Zoo!
