Okay, this probably sounds dumb. 1/8 is half of 1/4cup, so I would do 1/4 of cup which equals 2/8 and then a half of a 1/4. Does that make any sense?

I'm not laughing! I have the same problem.
3/8C. is 1/4C + 2 Tablespoons.
Here's a link that will help.

That's right, 3/8 is the same as 1/4 plus 2 tablespoons. I actually have an 1/8 cup measuring cup that came with a set and I use it ALL the time. The standard (is there such a thing?) coffee scoop is 1/8 or 2 tablespoons so you might want to get one if you think you'll use it enough.

<giggle> I always thought that was just strange with her recipe! icon_smile.gif You're not alone though.

I know have it down to a science (for me at least)! Four 4 cups of powdered sugar, I put in 4 TBSP of corn syrup and milk. This gives me a thicker icing consistency, but I have found that it works better and I get less air bubbles. I add by TBSP, equal amounts, as needed. I just pop it in the micro for few seconds so it runs out more freely.

All you need to remember is that you add equal parts of milk or water and cornsyrup. Dump some powdered sugar in a bowl, add your milk and stir until it is a very, very thick paste. Now add the same amount of cornsyrup that you used for the milk. If the icing is too thick, add more liquid until it's where you want it to be.

I had the same issue, but I found a conversion and it was like 6 tbs for 3/8 cup
