Id like to know how can I make buttercream icing to look like dark chocolate colour. Can I use a little of black colouring with choc brown colouring. I tried the choc brown but its too light and I also tried adding a little extra but its still came out light brown.

Yes, Deepa, you can add black to the brown to make a darker brown. Have you just made it within the past few hours? Darker colors should be made in advance, and allowed to set overnight, as dark icings will deepen in color in that time.

There is another way to make brown, which is to mix red and green colors. I know someone who has done this (I have only usec brown icing twice, both times with the brown paste color), and she had great success with this.

Try adding some red and green color to what you already have made, then allow it to set for several hours. If you are satisfied with the brown color, then add your black.
