I'm going to try MMF for the first time today. But I have a question. I got the recipe off of this website, but it doesn't say how many cakes it will cover. I have a 6" a 10" and a 14" to cover, plus the entire cake will be covered with fondant leaves and the toppers on all three cakes are also fondant leaves. Does anybody know how much I should make, or if I make too much how should I store it and how long can it be stored for? Thanks!
I thought I heard it covers an 8 or 9 inch cake...round....but not sure.....
I covered an 12" square and an 8" square with one recipe of the MMF .. it all depends on how thick or thin you roll it ... for those 2 cakes, I rolled it kind of thinner so I'd have enough with just one recipe mix ...
For what you're wanting to cover, it will take 2 or 3 recipes... If you have any drapes or extras on the cake, it will certainly take 3 recipes....
just a not, don't roll the 14" too thin ... it's better to have it a bit thicker since you're using such a large piece .. remember to dust well under your MMF with cornstarch so it doesn't stick .. good luck and let us know how it turns out ![]()
Best of luck and can't wait to see the pictures.. I'm sure it will come out beautifully!!
