I cannont figure out how to make my frosting look like this one does. It doens't look like luster dust to me. It looks wet almost. Let alone figuring out how to do the quilt look. Have you ever asked yourself "why did I say yes to this?" Please help...thanks!

I looks like super pearl dust to me. It also looks like the lighting and background were not ideal for the picture from the shadows all over it.

They make impression plates to give you the quilt look on a cake, I got mine for $5 from Earlene's Cakes.

I bought the impression mat and am having the hardest time. Seems like I can't get the impression to be deep enough. I am using rolled fondant. If I do the impression on the counter first the design is on the top and the sides look more like squares. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi All

If the impression mat doesn't work, you can buy patchwork cutters(these are not cutters) that mark the lattice and a few accent pieces. this one is desinged for fondant. I got mine at www.globalsugarart.com. I love it. It does work much better than the impression mat. I do think that Super Pearl or White Sparkle will give that sheen. I take to the White Sparkle for that look a little more.

Good Luck
