I just got my masonite cake boards. The plan is to re-use them, so I want to paint them, glue a couple together to make it look more substantial, and put some feet on the bottom also. Cakes WILL NOT be in direct contact with the boards. They will sometimes be used to display the cake- sometimes just to transport the cake. This is until I can afford some of those beautiful silver cake stands (for about $200)!
Questions:
1)Is it OK to use any old spray paint on them?
2)Any suggestions for paint color and feet?
3) Each board cost <$5, so even on the one that I'm stacking two together and once painted, etc., they will be <$20 each. Would you charge a deposit to use them or just hope you get them back?

I'm not sure about your other questions, but I would DEFINITELY charge a deposit!
