Okay I was looking at the Cake Mix Extender Recipe - http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1977-0-Cake-Mix-extender.html - and was reading the part that says you can use yogurt in the recipe. For those of you that have used this recipe with yogurt, do you use the plain, vanilla or flavored ones? If you used the flavored ones would it add a lot of flavor or would it be like using the pudding flavors and just a hint of flavor?
Can you taste the yogurt twang in the cake?
Has anyone used the WASC recipe with yogurt instead of sour cream?
Thank you Mac! I'll have to try it. I've been buying vanilla yogurt cause I like eating that flavor. So I wasn't sure if i could use it or if I needed plain. ![]()
I made these today but made cupcakes with the recipe. I got 3 dz plus 4 cupcakes which would equal about a mix and a half maybe a tiny bit over.
I did use a chocolate cake mix and added 1/3 cup cocoa powder. I haven't tried them yet but my 'tasters' said they were good.
I use vanilla yougurt and also I replace the oil with yogurt. It reduces fat and is super moist
