My husband bought me a big 12 cupcake silicon pan, I am dying to try it out....but I have to admit I have *never* made cupcakes!!!

I wanted to know do you have to have the cupcake paper cups? And also can I have some ideas of how to decorate them? I might go will a fall theme, I am still brainstorming.

Thanks,

Barbara

You don't have to have liners just grease and flour like you would a pan. As far as decorating check out the galleries and there are lots of great ideas for cupcakes. Maybe try out a cupcake cake. I love to make those there are a few in my pics if you want to see what one looks like.

Hi icon_biggrin.gif
I just wanted to let you know that with a silicone pan, you do not need to grease or flour the pan before you use it. That's the beauty of the material, it is naturally non-stick. Also, before you fill the muffin cups (each about 2/3 full) a tip is to place the silicone pan on a cookie sheet. This eases transportation into and out of the oven (the pans are very flexible and can "wobble"). You can bake them right on top of the cookie sheet, no need to remove it.

You don't need to use the paper cups, but they can help to protect your muffins and catch and crumbles while you are eating them. If I am making them for my family, I usually don't use the papers, otherwise I use them.

Good luck with your first batch!
