I have an order for some decorated chocolate chip cookies and one big (14") decorated chocolate chip cookie. I have not done a lot of cookies and I need any advice I can get. She wants the small cookies decorated like spiderwebs which is not a problem but I am not sure how to roll and use a cutter on chocolate chip cookies. I have only done it with sugar cookies. Also, does anyone have a great recipe? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks so much.

When I get requests for cookies that are not a typical roll and cut our cookies style I would make the CC cookies as always and decorate the bottom of the cookie. Attached is a picture of a cookie i made some time ago. and had I known about BCT I might have opted for that technique with chocolate. These cookies are decorated completely with chocolate
www.verybestbaking.com/ has a rolled chocolate chip cookie recipe that I have made a few times. It uses mini chocolate chips. For some reason I can't get on the site right now.

I have never done it.
Try this recipe from best baking.com as advised from momlovestocook

Wow, how the heck did you do those? can you eighter post or send me instructions. We need some cookies for the University Christmas fundraiser...I planed to use the edible printer to make the logos of the sponsors to put onto the cookies...let them order from us to give to their custormers. I was going to use a sugar cookie recipe...
But, this is awesome, I read where you can attach the edible sheet with chocolate but yours are so smooth in the back it would make a perfect surface for the sheet.
Looking foward to your response..
oh..may as well, if you answer this...let me know how you do the cc cookie ..do you roll, drop or cut ( to get it so round)...if you use chips, chunks or minis..and do you add nuts.
I am going to be making cookies this weekend so it would be lovely if I could make a batch of these too..lol
I'm making samples for the University fundraiser and got that Loaded Oatmeal cookie also on the list...yum!
Thanks!!!!
OK I will try to explain it the best I can.
For nice round cookies.
Use a ball scooper and measure them all the same, you will need to figure out how big if your using an edible image usually 1.5 oz works good. just before they are done use a cookie sheet of the same side and put it on top of the cookies that you are baking and slightly press on the top cookie sheet to flatten cookies. Not too hard especially if you have chocolate chips in them. Press just enough to make them the size you need.
1. if your using an edible image for the cookie use white chocolate to adhere the image to it. just spread it with a knife in a thin even coat. apply the image and let it dry.
2. my cookies are all hand decorated with chocolate in a squeezable bottle or with paint brushes, toothpicks or what ever I need. I do use tips on the bottles.

ok got everything but this part. Do you flatten them after you drop them onto a cookie sheet, before you bake them. or just before you're done? I would think....after I drop them. Right?
Thanks so much for your quick answer!!!
