Cookie Monster Cake Help - Can I Use The 3-D Teddybear Mold?
Decorating By nocentstar Updated 23 Oct 2005 , 12:29pm by KATE39
Hi guys! I need to make a Cookie Monster cake and am trying to come up with some way of doing it without using the typical Cookie Monster pan becuase A) none of the stores here have it, and B) I'd like to try something different.
I have the little 3D bear cake mold - the one that sites on top of a cake, like for kids to smash, and I've seen it used for teddy bears and panda bears, but do you think it could be used for the Cookie Monster?
If so, I was thinking about making a round cake and frost it to look like a giant cookie, then set the 3D cake of him on top. What do you guys think? Could it work? If not, do you have some other ideas that could be options? I'm doing this cake for a friend and they (and I) want it to be very special, hence the reason I'm trying to come up with other ideas.
I've also thought about doing a BCT, but I'd really like for something 3D, you know, to really pop and make it different.
Any ideas would be most welcome, and any tips of that 3D pan would be most welcome as well.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Sincerely,

Kellie,
Sorry I am afraid I am of little to no help to you. I have used the 3D bear pan once to make a Baby Einstein Frog smash cake, in my pics.
Only suggestion is to follow the cooling instructions exactly. And to make sure the pan is filled properly with no air bubbles.
Hoping someone with more info will be along soon.
I think a giant cookie with him on top would be adorable! And I dont see why you couldn't use that pan. Just cut off the bear ears and tail and decorate it differently. I used that pan to make a farmer.
I also found this picture, which I find looks closer to the 3d bear pan.
Hope that helped. Good luck!
Oops I forgot to add: I put lollipop sticks thru the bear/farmer and into the cake so that he wouldn't wobble all over the place or topple over! Also, cooling on one side then removing the pan, and then the other side worked fine for me. I used lots of non stick spray too.
O my you HAVE to post a pic when it is done! That is going to be just adorable!
IT's cinda's website to the rescue!!!! It's on the 2nd page of the cupcakes.
