We average about 300.

What does everyone else average?

Here is a picture of one of my latest cakes for a bridal show.

Lets see some pics!

Merissa, the funny thing is, right now, just two. Myself and another girl.

It was my cousins business, and I just bought it after working with him for 18 Years. We started out of his garage when I was 13.

When he owned it, he had about 4 people working. I will need to hire when the busy season starts, which is right around the corner.

Also, we specialize in Cheesecakes, rarely do a regular cake.

Best of luck to you in your future endevaours

300 wedding cakes a year? Oh, my goodness. That's almost three a week. How in the world do you manage? Do you have a system down?

Karen, not too bad really, 3 a week is a breeze.

We have 12 or 13 on June 8th/9th, that will be a treat! icon_lol.gif

it really depends on how used to it you are i work 40 hours a week as a full time cake decorator at sam's club. we dont do wedding cakes but an average saturday i do about 40 cakes by myself. after 3 years of this i can average 4-5 wedding cakes in a weekend. the most ive done for one weekend was 33 8" rounds and a 2 tier for one wedding and a 3 tier with 2 sheet cakes for another. that was crazy. all i have to say is my husband is very helpful and patient.

Hi all

WOW! 300, that is amazing. I think that my average is about 25-40 a year by myself. I am wanting to do more, and this year is looking like I may double that. My hat is off to you, that is just awsome. Loved the photo of the cake by the way. Nice work.

Geez. I did 5 cakes this weekend and only one was decorated. I did the roses cake in my photos, 2 german chocolate cakes, the indian beads cake and a boston cream pie cake and they whooped my butt!!! I'm SOOO tired! And they were NO WHERE near the pressure of a wedding cake!!!

I'm just starting, also. Have had 2 small weddings thus far, but have 6 more booked. Just finished from a busy weekend w/ 8 orders (bdays, banquets, etc.) and I am exhausted also--and my feet hurt!!! I can't imagine ever doing more than one wedding cake per weekend. But I'm just out of my kitchen, too. My best help so far has been my DH who agrees to be my delivery man-what a life saver that was this weekend!!

You guys amaze me! (King of cakes, I love your cake!) - It took me all weekend to make a simple two tiered cake, how in the world do you manage that many wedding cakes a week? Amazing talent and efficiency!

I plan on 2 a weekend through the wedding season. But my goal was to do 20 in a year. I'm already booked with that many, and plenty of weekends still free. icon_lol.gif So I think I'll surpass my goal this year. icon_smile.gif

I did 43 weddings/event in 2006 but that's not just cakes. It's the full buffet catering also. That's about 3 times what I did in 2005. (And I had a full time job during that time, too. Thank GOD (!) that is done and over with!)

I frequently had multiple events on one weekend and a few days where I had 2 or even 3 on one day. (And for the record .... believe it or not, it's easier to have 3 on one day than it is to have a rehearsal on Friday, a wedding on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday! Really!!!)

I'm pretty much a one-man show as far as meeting the couples, taking the orders, getting the supplies, doing the cakes and the food prep, but I do have some great folks who can earn some weekend money by actually working the weddings with me at the reception site.

Because of time constraints, I'm practically 100% wedding .... no birthday or shower cakes except for very special clients.

Good luck to all

Wow, I am very inspired by you all. I just have an order here and there right now, but it's my dream one day to open my own cake shop. I am just getting ready to start my 4th wedding cake ever, so I've got a ways to go! The most cakes I've ever done so far is 12 cakes at one time, the bride wanted the tiered wedding cake and then an 8" round cake of the same design as a centerpiece for every table at the reception.

I am impressed with all of you.

I think the most I have done in a year, here in the U.K. was around 20.

You must be more organised than I am to get through so many.
