Covering A Cake Board With Mmf?

Hi everyone! I am making a cake for a charity dinner for a little girl that needs surgery and Children's hospital here is hosting a benifit dinner to help raise the money for her surgery. Anyway, I am making a whimsical cake and was wondering if anyone knew if I could decorate the cake board with MMF instead of foil, and if I can how do I do it? I have never used MMF, but I thought I'd give it a try. So any other helpful hints on using this stuff would be greatly appreciated. I plan on covering my tiers with it as well!! Thank you!! ![]()
Use piping gel to attach the mmf to your board.
If I was doing this I would probably go ahead and put the board on another board, that away you can move the board, and not worry about sticking your fingers in fondant.
If you want something more attractive than foil on your boards, you can always use the Wilton Foils. Also on my cakes, I use Renolyds Freezer paper, shiny side up. ![]()
I love the look of mmf on my cake boards. I use piping gel or just lightly brush the board with water and it works fine. Most of the time I only put the fondant on the outer edges where it will be seen. It saves on fondant and its pretty simple to run a strip around the outside edge.
I cover my boards with the different prints of contact paper the type you use for shelf lining paper Love the stuff!
