Does anyone know what a fondant rose applique is or where I get one, or how to use it? icon_redface.gif I'm still a newbie here, but love this site! I took the Wilton course 1 in August, course 2 in Sept and am waiting for course 3. In the meantime, I'm making as many cakes as I can for church functions (I've been able to make monthly birthday cake for my children's choir group) and am also doing birthday cakes for friends and family! I absolutely LOVE decorating and hope to one day do it full time. A friend of mine is getting married in April and wants me to do her cake!! I'm so excited and nervous. She found a cake on this site that she loves. I went to the website (TamiAZ made it). It says she used a fondant rose applique. I have no idea what that is or what to do with it, but I have time to play with it!! Tami, if you read this, I absolutely love your cakes! I don't think mine will turn out half as good, but I'll give it a shot! Thanks guys!! LOVE THIS SITE!!!

huh, not sure, but you may want to private message her and ask. She's a nice lady and I'm sure she'd be willing to help you!

icon_smile.gif I think what that is , it is that molded lace that look like applique with a Rose design on it..Applique look like a lace patch...I have a few of these molds..If you look at my photos, I have a Pink/Mauve color cake that has these on it..I think this is what you are asking.. icon_smile.gifthumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif

I haven't seen the cake but it may be a patchwork cutter applique. These cutters are very popular in england. Basically a fondant covered cake is embossed using the cutter then the same cutter is used to cut out small individual pieces in coloured gumpaste which is then applied to the cake

Thanks MissBaritone! TamiAZ actually sent me a PM. It was a patchwork cutter that she used. I'll probably order one online and play with it to see what I can do. I'm SO excited!! My first wedding cake will be in April and another co-worker just said he's getting married in August and wants me to do his too!! icon_surprised.gif Thanks guys for all your help!! I love this site!!!!
