Hello, I found some cakes about a month ago (not on CC) and the decorations looked as though they were drawn on. This was done on buttercream icing. Is there such a thing as printing on edible transfer paper with edible ink using my printer at home? I have the picture, can I attach it? If I can, it won't post in the gallaries will it. I'll wait for an answer before I attach. I hope I explained it well
with out a picture. Thanks Theresa
Do you know if canon is the only printer that can do this? Where do you get edible ink?
This could be done using edible images (the ribbon might even be done using edible images). If you hadn't said it was done on buttercream, I'd think it was painted on fondant. I've seen painting on buttercream but it never comes out that precise. Do you have a larger pic?
Yes...only certain Canon printers are compatible with the edible ink cartridges. I purchase my ink through www.kopykake.com
I was hoping to have a large enough picture that I could see seams but I still can't tell for sure. If you wanted to recreate this cake, you could use edible images to do it though. If I were to do it this way, I'd come back with black buttercream and do the outlining. That would hide any seams that would show if you were to use frosting/icing sheets. Cute cake!
Looks like fondant and then airbrushed on.
Cute cake...post picture when you finish.
i guess it wouldn't be possible to put a bct on a round cake...right?? looks like one though??
has anyone ever done a bct on the side of a square cake?
