I use the Wilton' class buttercream icing w/all shortening, it thaws nicely with no running. I also use a small sheet of plexiglass that I got at Home Depot, this way I can lift it up and see the actual fbct as I'm working on it. When finished I slide the whole plexiglass sheet into a 2 gallon freezer ziploc bag and pop into the freezer, it will keep for a long time, just don't put anything on top of it. My first fbct was the Bratz cake in my photos, I was really happy with how it came out. Good luck!

By all means after finishing the fbct, and befor freezing, put a layer of icing the same color as the background of the cake over the entire fbct. It helps give it strength and provents such easy breaking when transfering it to the cake.
