I am working on my first cake as we speak. I just learned how to decorate them last week from a friend. We are having a Superbowl/birthday party for my mom on Sunday. I made a 2 layer 9x13 cake and I am going to make a 15" cookie with football helmets on it. There will be about 20-30 at the party..is this enough? I am the only one bringing deserts and now I am paniced....the cake looks so small and what if everyone want to try the cake???
My husband said to make small cookies to go with what I already have...I have also thought about making cupcakes...I also have a silicone flower cake pan that I could make several different flavored cakes??? I have all day tommorow and most of the day Sunday to work on this so I have time I just need suggestions!
Plus if you're having alcohol at the party, they won't eat as much cake. I don't know ..... something about beer and sweet icing that doesn't mix well!
That's one of the things I ask my brides about during the sampling. If they are having alcohol, they could reduce their cake order a bit.
Yes I have two whole 9x13 cakes on top of each other...well actually I just measured and they are actually 8x12. I figure that some people will want cake and a little of the cookie so they will take little slices of each..plus about 10 of the people are teenagers and from my experience they usually prefer the cookie! Thanks for the reassurance!
