Has anybody made 2 cakes with the House pan and put them together to make a full-size house/barn?
I have a Barn cake to make and wanted to use that for the basic shape. How stable is it if you put them back to back? And do you need to secure it with anything other than frosting?
Thanks in advance--Pam
My barn cake is 2 house pans back to back.

You need to level the backs of the cakes, sandwich them together with icing, then level the bottom.
Whether on another cake (like my barn) or directly on the cake board, I would hammer one or two sharpened dowels into EACH half of the house for stability if you're transporting the cake. If the cake is staying where it's assembled, you shouldn't need to take such drastic measures.
