For those who are interested in learning to ice a cake in the "Faux Fondant" method, there is a nice little DVD available from Mason's Bakery in Florida. I will tll you that he does not use buttercream, but a whipped cream topping that I think must be similar to Pastry Pride. Here is a link to the DVD.

He must have found ths DVD to be a good seller because the price has gone up considerably since I ordered mine 2 years ago. I think I paid $29.95 for it plus shipping.

I'm assuming you have the DVD? I just looked at the price. . .is it really worth it? How long is it? Does he teach you how to make their icings? Thanks. thumbs_up.gif

I am interested in knowing how this differs from some of the tutorials or other instructions. I think ShirleyW led us to a link with a tutorial some time back. Thanks for sending us the info.

Do I think the DVD is worth the price? It depends on how much you want to perfect this type of icing. I really wanted to learn how to do it and so considered it worth the price. Do I think it is worth $50.00? Again, it depends on how much you want to learn to do this. No, he doesn't give a recipe for his topping.

I haven't posted a link to this DVD tutorial before, it must have been to the Jeff Arnett method of doing Faux Fondant with buttercream.

How long is the video and how in-depth? That's what I mean in regards to "is it worth it". thumbs_up.gif
