I use a 20-inch pin, but I made my frame out of square dowel rods.
I have a 1/2 inch and a 1/4 inch thick frames. And sometimes use the long candy sticks as a glide.
The pin rolls along the edges of the frame. I also took someone else's advice on CC and use parchment paper to keep from adding flour to the dough, it works perfectly.

I like the perfection strips much better than the rolling pin. You get those at www.countrykitchensa.com. April Carpenter has something to do with that business and she has a great site on cookies. It's www.aprilcarpenter.com.
i cought a yaredstick, cut it in half, and place half on each side of my pin making sure the pin rolls on the sticks.

I actually have a rolling pin with various size wooden rings that slip on.
Those are really neat. I have never seen them before. My DH made a square frame for me. I've been wondering what everyone uses. Glad to see this post!
