How long do I leave my cake in the pan before I take it out? I am not usually in charge of baking, but now I am...and I don't want to mess this cake up!!! Thanks Donna

10 to 15 minutes is normal. Larger cakes may need to cool a little longer.

I leave it in just long enough so that it is not too hot to handle - maybe 20 min. or so. I cool them in the pan on racks so that they can get some more air circulation around them. Sometimes, if I am in a rush, I'll pop them in the fridge or freezer to kind of speed up the process.

10-15 minutes. Tap the pan in all directions between your hands when ready to flip over. That'll loosen it up so it doesn't stick.

I let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then take it out. If you leave it too long, it will stick.

I usually coool mine on a rack for 5-10 minutes in the pan and then turn them out on the rack to finish cooling. Don't know if this is the "proper" way, but it always works for me.

You all are fantastic! Now, any advice on how to handle a 16x16 cake? I am not at my store, I am trying to do this at home and I don't have the huge pan that I normally would. Thanks...sorry for being so needy icon_redface.gif Donna

Not sure I understand the question? Are you trying to turn it out or what exactly?

You need to know how to make the size? Well... you could make four 8x8s and piece them together if you have that size. Otherwise, you'll have to be cutting and rearranging pretty creatively with other size pans.
