This is nothing against people who work night shif - my husband has for 14 yearsand he loves it! He works at a hospital and will deliver cakes to people there who have ordered them if he is going to work anyway. But sometimes he is not scheduled to work when they will be there. I frequently get asked to drop them off at 11:30pm when they are done their evening shift or be there at 6:30am before they start their day shift. I have a little girl and I DO NOT work nightshift. (OK unless I pull an all night cake decorating night) but not usually!

Crazy people! icon_razz.gif

My DH works a lot of nights and he takes cake orders in for me at 10:00 through 7 am. I also had one of his co-workers ask if she could pick her cake up at 6:00 am. I told her ok because I leave for work about 6:10.

I don't normally eat ANYTHING until at least 9:30am, for some reason I just can't handle food that early, so no food sounds good that early. icon_lol.gif
If I send a cake to work with my husband he puts it on the table at 9am and they all dig in. He has to hide it before then so some of the pigs he works with don't eat it all. icon_rolleyes.gif

It's no worse than a donut or caramel roll if you think about it.

Well I guess quite a bit of early and late times for cakes! 11:30 pm!!! icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gif You know, I could totally see that if it's a Friday or a Saturday night and it's a "girls night" kind of thing! I could definately see the late night!

I want to know who the food police are? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Who sets the food rules? icon_eek.gif

I'm one of those "I don't like traditional breakfast foods" people, so I find it funny that it's considered "odd" to have cake at 8:00 a.m. but it's "normal" to have a doughnut at 8:00 a.m. icon_confused.gif

I find it funny that it's considered "odd" to have ground beef with cheese on a bun for breakfast, but it's "normal" to have ground sausage with cheese on a (Mc)Muffin for breakfast. icon_confused.gif

I find it funny that it's considered "odd" to have a cold caffeine drink in a paper cup with lots of sugar in the morning but it's "normal" to have a hot caffeine drink in a paper cup with lots of sugar in the morning. icon_confused.gif

I find it funny that it's considered "odd" to have potatoes that are cut in long sticks and fried in grease in the morning, but it's "normal" to have potatoes that are cut in slices and fried in grease in the morning. icon_confused.gif

Cake at 8:00 a.m.???? Sounds "NORMAL" to me!!!! icon_razz.gif

Amen! A common conversation in our house:

Husband: Let's get up early and go to breakfast!
Debi: Let's sleep in and go to lunch! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

huh..I agree!! totally...with you and with indydebi!!

let's skip breakfast and let's sleep till noon! thumbs_up.gif

since a lot of my cakes go to clubs...I have to hang around till 10 pm that's the latest I will deliver especially since I can't go to sleep til 3 am.

( My room mate leaves at that time for work and I sleep like a cat and hear him moving around ...and he's not a quiet person...so....)

I get very angry when I don't get at least 2 or 3 hours of sleep straight..lol

Tomorrow's delivery is not so bad, it's at a restaurant and the reservations are at 9 pm thumbs_up.gif

As Bill Cosby said in his stand up routine. Paraphrasing "Eggs, milk, sounds like breakfast"
"Dad is great! He gave us chocolate cake"
Thankfully all my delivery times have been day shift hours.
Great thread.

Thanks guys! icon_redface.gif My first impression was WOW!!!!!!!!!!! This isn't THAT kind of topic!

I love that routine by Bill Cosby! The wife leaves him in charge of breakfast and he reasoned through chocolate cake that it has all the ing. for breakfast. Now chocolate cake alone wouldn't be that bad I guess. I sure as heck would eat a thick cold piece. That's the only way to eat chocolate cake IMO is cold!!!!! With chocolate fudge filling of course. My mom made the best sour cream chocolate cake. I'm sure I have the recipe somewhere. Man, now I want chocolate cake! If I start it now I might have it out of the oven by 11! thumbs_up.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_wink.gif If I do find that recipe then how do I go about posting it in the recipes section? I have never done it before and I'm taking the cheaters way out by asking ya'll!!!!!

And grapefruit juice. Cosby also gave them grapefruit juice with the choc cake! A well balanced meal!
