I've really been bugging the members of CC this past week and a half with this cake. It's my first real tiered cake and first time ever using fondant for anything. This cake was very special to me as it's for my best friend of 23yrs' 30th birthday tonight. I wanted to do right by her and maybe pick up some business in the process. The experience was definitely a learning one! I cut out the fondant flames and then tried putting them on the cake....won't do that again! I had some MAJOR tears in it and tried the "Duff method" to fix it with RI....after sleeping on it I think I know a better way (and of course it's too late to do anything about)but I'll know better next time
Where it was really bad I covered it with another emblem and the rest is....well much less then perfect. Good thing it's at a smokey, dim lit bar!! LOL
I didn't add the 3 and 0 candles on the cake so imagine them on either side of the 6" if you'd like... ![]()
Thank you from the heart all those who helped with my icing cracking yesterday and all the other things before that. This is truly a great place!![]()

I think you did a wonderful job, your colors are geat and so is the work on the cake!
You are all too kind....I'm a nervous wreck when I make a cake and usually hate it for days afterwards! I could show/tell you all the mistakes...but I'm sure some are obvious!
I think it looks wonderful and the cake came out great .. don't be so hard on yourself .. you did a great job!!
