There are so many wonderful decorators on this board and I have enjoyed so much looking at all the beautiful cakes. I am new to cake decorating and when I look at my cakes eww I shudder they don't look good. I know practice makes perfect. Hopefully one day I will be able to make and decorate a beautiful cake.
DH tells me how good I am getting and he is so wonderful in encouraging me to proceed. But I guess maybe it is the pregnancy hormones today or whatever but I made him this cake and I don't like it at all, I am thinking about throwing it out...Please tell me what you think of it. Thanks you all.
Oh yeah one last thing this cake is 12 inch round white cake with chocolate buttercream...the little mound cake was just white on white but I can't figure out how to get the whole cake to show up here

You did a great job smoothing your icing. I think it's very pretty. Don't throw it out! I'm in TN, I'll come by and pick it up. lol

Kepp working... it looks pretty! Wish I could see the whole thing. I have some pictures of some of my first cakes... I wouldn't dare post them!
I really wish some of you pros would post a few of your first cakes so we beginners would feel normal.
