I just got a request for a sheet cake to feed 40 people. I have a 9x13 and I have an 11x15 pan. If I do a double sheet (stacked w/ icing between layers) should I do a double 9x13 or a double 11x15? Which will feed 40 people?

Thanks!
Rhonda

I would go for the 11x15. I did a double layer 9x 13 and it fed 30- granted the pieces weren't small (cake was the only thing being served). I would rather have left overs than not enough.

I would lean toward the 11 x 15. It may give you a few more servings, but the 9 x 13 is not big enough.

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards the 11x15 too but just wanted to be certain.

Thanks again,
Rhonda

I just say "the 9x13 gives X number of slices of a certain size, while the 11x15 gives you Y slices of a certain size. Each cake is $x.xx per serving. Which would you like to order?

Let them decide. you shouldn't be giving away extra cake.
