Is there a link to instructions on how to do that "procedure"? I have yet to try it and continue to bust my hump every time!

Oh Jelligirl, that sooo sounds like something I would do. Too cute.
I have become very possessive of my paper towels since I came to my site and started this whole thing. I stocked up on Viva a couple of weeks ago and you should have seen the looks I got when I walked through the door! I think I need to stash a roll or two in a secret place - because goodness knows we go through a lot of paper towels around here!

That's funny. I smacked my DH hand for trying to use the Viva. He looked stunned when I told him he could only touch the bounty!! Now he is sure I've lost it LOL icon_lol.gif

I came home one day from school and saw my MIl with my Viva papertowels out using them for cleaning! icon_surprised.gif She looked at me as if I was crazy when I noticed and ran to snatch them off the counter while handing her the "other" brand. icon_lol.gif She now knows ----No Viva, or Melissa will go nuts again!

I covet my Viva papertowels also! Cakenutz, same thing happened with my hubby! I walked in and saw that he was about to use my Viva, and I yelled NO. He just looked at me.... I tried to explain that those were my 'special' papertowels for my cakes... He knows now not to touch them, whether he understands it is another thing! lol

Have your heard of using the foam paint roller for smoothing your BC? It works better than the paper towel and it's faster.

I have read several of the posts about it, and I really want to try it. I just don't think about looking for one of them when I go to the store. I need to go ahead and put it on my list, so I won't forget the next time!!!

I tried this method for the first time last weekend and I it turned out ok, not perfect but I used a regualr buttercream recipe & not a crusting one so I think that is why my icing didn't come out as smooth as I had hoped. I'm going to try it agian this weekend w/ the crusting recipe.

Must use a crusing recipe for the foam roller - but let me tell you..
ITS AWESOME!!!!!

Especially getting weird shapes - my doll cakes would have been a nightmare without it!!!

I hadn't thought about that FatAndHappy! I can see where it would be SO much easier for the shaped pans like that. I am really going to have to get one of them soon!
