This is a link to ebay where they have square sets, for baking pans,
http://cgi.ebay.com/SQUARE-CAKE-PAN-SET-6-8-10-12-x-2-in-deep_W0QQitemZ330081113226QQihZ014QQcategoryZ25466QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330081113226

maybe you can find something there, and they are in California you would have to wait to long to get them,

I purchased my square magic line pans from the same seller on ebay as listed above. Their website is www.cakepans4less.com. I actually ordered mine from their website but found them while searching on ebay. I live in SE Texas and got them in 3 days.

my local SLT has a good selection of square pans. i'm leery of intotheoven after i heard they took some of CC's pictures to use on their own site.
I am also curious, how to the Magic Line pans compare with Wilton. Right now I have all Wilton pans and really like them. But if Magic Line are better ![]()
I just ordered all squares from cakepans4less online too; shipped today. Can't wait!
What I've noticed as the BIG difference between my ML pans and my Wilton pans (and maybe there are different ones out there, so ymmv) is that the corners and edges on the Wilton I have are NOT perfectly knife-edge square. So when you stack two layers, you have slightly slanting sides and rounded corners and edges. With ML pans you get super-square edges and lines, which translates to super square edges and lines in your icing (well, hypothetically
)
I'll never, repeat never use my Wilton squares again. ever... bleh In fact they're in the attic.
homecook....what about the rounds.....are they better as well? I have so many Wilton pans that I hate to start over replacing them. Have a lot of money invested.
i bought squares and rounds from the cakepans4less, got them quickly, paid "pennies" for them and i love them! with my cheapo pans i need to use bake even strips...with these, i do not. when i got mine, some of them were magic line, others were not marked (the lesser expensive brand nameon the site-cant remember it now) ...but of exact same quality. i got 6 pans for 61$ shipped. WAY better investment!
Thanks Melysa.
i think that they have all sizes in magic line and the lesser expensive ones . they are both professional grade alluminum, same really. i actually ordered all the other brand but for some reason they sent one or two of them the ML...guess they were out of the others . to me they bake up the same...look the same...only diff is the name stamp and a few bucks more. anyway...i got a 4" round, 4,6,8,10 &12" square plus a baking core all for 61 including the shipping. great deal.
I do have rounds of ML too, and I like them better than Wilton, too, mostly because their sides are super straight--not even a hint of slant (some of my 8" round Wilton are totally slanted--wider at the top). Their edges are very crisp too.
Just a much better pan, I feel...I'll never buy another Wilton pan, though I do use the ones I have, and I LOVE their springform pans.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say this, if not I'm sorry, but I would be willing to part with my new Magic Line square pans. Email me at [email protected]
Kelleykakes,
Did you have trouble with your ML square pan discoloring?? My 10x10x2 has discolored something horrible and I have only hand washed it. I hope I can still bake with it! Other than that problem, I LOVE my ML pans!
