My sister is having a surprise party for her husband who is turning 40. We can't seem to come up with any new ideas for a cake. I have done the Over the Hill, One foot in the Grave, but we are looking for a new idea. Any suggestions?? ![]()
I agree look at his hobbies. Does he golf? You could create a putting green and flag with the number 40. Does he like Nascar, sleeping, doughnuts (for a doughnut cake), a certain TV show, hunting, swimming? I'm sure you can come up with something creative! Also, sometimes I flip through Wilton pics, or pics on CC for inspiration and it comes! Good luck!
For my husband's 40th I made a toilet, with blue piping gel and babyruth bars in it. On the top of the toilet I wrote "Another year" and on the actual seat I wrote, "Down the Sh#%@er" I lost a lot of my photos when my computer crashed months ago but if you want me to send you an invite to my yahoo pictures I can show it to you. My decorating methods were very primative (a nice way for saying badly frosted
) for this one but it was fun.
I just recently had the same problem. This man liked so many things, it was hard to narrow it down. So we did a road revisiting his life. It's complicated to explain, but you can view it in my photos...it was fun and it really personalized the cake. Good luck with whatever you decide!
