I felt a little sad for Marcell. I felt he always got a bad rap for just being "different". I really didn't see anything that made him seem as bad as they made him out to be. He was cocky as all get out, but he was creative and having to fight against the mob the ENTIRE time... I think that they all just needed to vent somehow and they did it by picking up Marcel. I never saw him trying to attack anyone else unless he was provoked... and they just tore into him and Ilan saying he was a nice guy - he was the WORST to Marcel!

Interestingly, I think this loss was a good thing for marcel - the whole show really. I think it's probably the first time EVER with cooking he wasn't "tops" and it was a bit of humble pie for him... But ultimately? He's probably going to be the better chef down the line, as they judges alluded to..

Ilan was always near the top, but he just never seemed" wow... to me. I liked Sam and Elija the best, but that match-up didn't happen...

Am I the only TopChef Junkie?

I actually took the time to watch Top Chef before I frosted a cake due tomorrow.

I am sorry but Marcel was so not willing to give a little and be kind to others. Did you hear he take credit for the dish that was suppose to have the fish on it when Sam was the one that created the dish? That pretty much summed it up for Marcel. I really think the whole show was rigged like all the other real life competitions like this one. The last two standing are usually the two that got along the worst. It helps ratings. I truly thought Sam would be left with Marcel. What is the wink thing with Sam? Not too shabby icon_wink.gif

No, he didn't take credit for it and Sam didn't create the dish. The dish was basically the same minus the fish and adding the heart of palm or whatever. Marcell even said, "Sam and I worked together" and in the video, they showed Sam first getting it started and then Marcell jumped in after his panic attack.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't think he was the best of the whole group, but between the two... and rigged? I think there is something to that - when it gets close, why not make it spicier when you can't decide who to send anyway?

And now I know who won.

The show hasn't aired here yet on the West Coast.

I already knew who won before the show aired. There was a oops on Yahoo that gave it away. I am glad that Marcel did not win..... He was like the last girl on the last show------His voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard!
Also I knew the Isomalt would not work out! Way too humid!

I thinks Sam did inspire the dish a little. I just think this was very rigged!

Marcel had a kind of cooking I had mever heard of before does any one know what it is?

I am a super huge Top Chef junkie! I got my five year old hooked on it, too. After all it is on all day long. He told me he thought Ilan was going to win three shows ago.

Did you sign up for the Bravo contest for the chef to cook at your house? I hope I win! icon_razz.gif

Marcel is really into molecular structure. I don't think there is a name he is just very scientific.

Ooo Ooo o/ I'm a Top Chef Junkie too! icon_razz.gif I'm glad Ilan won ovr Marcel. But we aLL know Sam should've won. I was SO sad when he was told to pack his knives last week.
Oh, and I read somewhere that this lady recognized Marcel from the show, (they were @ a club I believe) and she disliked him so much, she broke a bottle over his head! He had to get like 30 stiches. (Hm..I wonder if they had to shave his head to put the stiches in icon_wink.gif ??

We love Top Chef! Finally watched the finale last night & I can't say I was happy with how it turned out. I didn't care for either Ilan or Marcel. Marcel was always so cocky and rude to the others. No, the competition isn't about making friends, but that doesn't mean you have to think you're superior and be an a** to everyone around you either. That having been said, I don't think the behavior of the others toward Marcel was warranted either. They were acting like typical middle school bullies and their behavior was unexcuseable.

I do think it was Sam who gave Marcel the idea to serve the dish without the fish; maybe Marcel would have thought of it himself, but that's something we can't know. IMO, Marcel is not a "top chef" because of his crappy attitude towards the people around him, regardless of how good his food is.

My kids love Top Chef & Iron Chef too icon_biggrin.gif Yesterday my 4 year old was watching one of the Charlie Brown's where Snoopy is cooking & he said that Snoopy is a Top Chef. LOL!

Maybe yall need a "Forum Tips" thread? That is what a spoiler alert is (and it was posted at the very beginning of the thread)...it allows those who don't want to know the info to exit without reading it.

Well, that's what I changed it too. Originally the thread said something like, "Top Chef Junkie - a little sad that marcel didn't win"... and then I said I thought he got a tough rap more than he should... Personally, I liked Sam and Elea, but they were eliminated. Ilan was a top bully to Marcel, imo.

SO, yes, for about 15 minutes, I had the first title and then changed it as soon as I was aware that it hadn't aired everywhere yet.
