I have to do a wedding cake. I am really excited about it. the cake is very simple but i am not sure how to get the pearls to circle cake perfectly even in space and perfectly straight around the cake. I was hoping you all would give me your expert advice(this is my first wedding cake), also are the pearls best to use when purchased soft or hard or should i pipe them. if you want to view the cake it is listed on "the knot" the cake is called simple sophistication. Please teach me!!! icon_smile.gif

There is an impression mat that you can buy either online or in a cake supply store that you lay on your cake and it makes the indentations for you to where the edible pearls or bc should be placed.

Here's the link to the cake you're interested in doing:

The pearls look to be piped on with BC. It's a beautiful cake. I'm sure you can do this by piping the dots all around the cake. You will need to keep them very level. Use a ruler to measure how far up from the base you want the pearls.

Good luck!
