I posted this in another forum as well...

Does anyone have an "un-traditional" King Cake recipe?

I'm looking for something like chocolate raspberry. I saw it on the food network, some company was selling it, but I'd rather make it myself. Any ideas?

Other "un-traditional" recipe's are welcome.

Thanks!

A king cake is the way it is for symbolism. The icing colors are purple for justice, green for faith and gold for power. The "real" king cake is braided. The one's I have made or bought here have either cream cheese filling or a praline filling.

My favorite is a recipe that I got from Southern Living mag.It is a true King Cake.It is very detailed, though. If you will let me know more of what you want,I probably have a recipe of that type that I have tried.

Hope this helps.

I know about the colors, I've made one before =)

I'm just looking for different recipes to use. I'm willing to see any recipes... I did see one on TV about a choco/raspberry one that looked good but any ideas are gladly accepted! The praline sounds really good!

The one I made last year didn't come out so good. It was the traditional one but I didn't like the taste of it.

Maybe I just made it wrong...

Ah, yes, anything will do.
