Looking For Cute Roasted Pig Cake
Decorating By melissablack Updated 8 Mar 2005 , 5:36am by -TenderHeart
My hubby and I are planning a luau themed party for our church's Spring fellowship, and I wanted to make a cake shaped like a roasted pig. Now, I don't think I could make one that looks realistic... I'm not that advanced yet! But I saw a cute one last year when I was browsing through luau ideas for a b-day party I ended up not having, and it was made using a big bowl for the body... Anyway, I can't find the picture anywhere, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me. Thanks!
Melissa
Found something, the instructions for the cake are towards the bottom, no pics though. Sorry this is all I could find, even though I know that I have seen pig cakes before

There are a few great pig roast cakes at Wilton. Search under the discussion forum archives for "pig roast." Good luck!
You're welcome, Melissa. I had actually saved two of the pig roast cakes from Wilton for my "ideas scrapbooks," but it seems I've since deleted them--thinking, when would I need pig roast pictures?! Now, I know. Anyway, they're there.
Also, a Yahoo image search turned up this adorable cake: http://web.newsnotes.us/pigroast.html
Good luck.
Here's a how-to for a 3-D pig roast cake: http://members.nuvox.net/~zt.proicer/cakepict/pigcake.htm
And here are instructions from the same site for a general (non-roast) 3-D pig cake: http://members.carol.net/~zt.proicer/cakepict/porky.htm
And a Yahoo image serach for "pig cake" brings up a gazillion more ideas.
