I need to make a bow and have the fondant, but don't have any gumtex and have to drive over 45 minutes to get it. I work full time so that's not an option right now.

I need a bow for Friday...I've heard that people mix gumpaste with their fondant or even icon_surprised.gif fixodent????

Any ideas??

Really??? Which one worked better??? The fixodent or gumpaste?? I'm sure they're not eating it, so the fixodent might be the way to go...plus a little cheaper icon_lol.gif

I use the Fixodent Super(dries faster) in MMF and it works great...just make sure it is in the powder form. You can use regular also thumbs_up.gif .

Stephanie I have heard of people using Fixodent. What ratio did you use, fixodent to fondant? I seem to always have Tylose powder but you just never know when you will run out and I can't buy it locally. Fixodent is everywhere. On the how does it taste question. I once dampened my finger, put a bit ot Tylose powder on it and tasted it. OH YUCK! It immediately turned to gooey gel in my mouth, I had to run and brush my teeth to get it out of my mouth.

Fixodent and Tylose are the same substance, if I recall. But you DO have that flavor issue! Refreshingly minty isn't all that bad! icon_smile.gif Just don't tell anybody what's in it. It's one of those "what they don't know..." things.

Shirley,

I can't give a ratio because I do not add the Fixodent all at once...dries to quickly.

I take the amount of MMF that I would need at that time and add some Fixodent.

Example; if I want to do five daises, then I take that amount of MMF and add some Fixodent. You will have to play around with the amount thumbs_up.gif .
